SARUGAKU – NGHỆ THUẬT BIỂU DIỄN SÂN KHẤU ĐỘC ĐÁO Ở NHẬT BẢN

With the integration of indigenous traditional art and ritual dance of Shinto, various types of Japanese stage performing arts, called Sarugaku, attract a large number of tourists.

Traveling to Japan, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the performing arts of this country. Sarugaku includes genres such as Kyogen - Comedy, Noh - Mainstream Musical, Bunraku - Puppet, Kabuki - Another mainstream theater. Here is some specific information about each different type, visitors can find out.

1. Noh - Drama mask
This is the oldest traditional theater performance in the world. As an official musical, the main theme of Noh plays is the ephemeral of life, afterlife, ghosts, etc. Most of the movements of the characters in the drama show emotional aspects. However, people are most impressed with the masks with many different shapes.

What impresses visitors in this performance is the music in the show is very unique. With 4 basic types of instruments: shoulder drum (kotsuzumi), flute (fue), large drum (taiko), rice drum (otsuzumi) combined with the choir and orchestra create compelling, engaging sounds viewers. There is no conductor here, the musicians will put music into the play itself to suit the lines.

2. Bunraku - The art of puppetry
This art form originated in Osaka. Bunraku has a combination of 3 elements such as puppet manipulator, storyteller, shamishen player (a traditional type of Japanese piano, almost like the Vietnamese moon). The art of puppetry is enjoyed by many visitors on Japanese tours.

In the land of the rising sun, Bunraku is different from other countries in the world. The puppeteer will be present on the stage. However, until the play begins, all focus will turn to the puppets. Visitors here will see firsthand this art.

3. Kyogen - Comedy
Unlike other types of stage, comedy brings laughter to the audience. Kyogen was born to help balance the seriousness and dignity of Noh. If Noh is into music, Kyogen is more prone to using lines. Surprisingly, there are very few characters in Kyogen plays, usually no more than 3 people. In particular, the comedy content often reveals a lot about the complex aspects of Japanese personality.

Kyogen is easy to understand because it reflects the daily life of people with very ordinary and simple languages. Some content of the comedy is about servants and warlords. Especially the lazy husband, the talkative wife, the silly sammurai, ...

4. Kabuki - Great musicals
Kabuki are musicals created by a virgin girl named Okuni, at the Izumo Shrine. Kabuki is made up of 3 characters: sing - sing, dance - dance, dexterity - skill. For a time, the dance performed for musicals performed by girls who were well-dressed, contrary to social morality, was banned for a long time. This is also a great turning point for Kabuki to follow the true art path.

Currently, Sarugaku - Unique theater performance in Japan has always attracted a large number of tourists. Coming to this country, you can spend time enjoying life and learning about the culture of the people here through the arts.
